DESCRIPTION
OF TANK
The tanks are constructed of precast,
reinforced-concrete panels that are
placed in a circle on a cast-in-place
foundation slab. The panels
are tied together with high strength
post-tensioning tendons that completely
encircle the tank. Grout is
placed between the panels before post-tensioning
and a closure pour is made around
the perimeter at the tank base to
provide a watertight vessel.
Tanks of various diameters can be
made by utilizing different numbers
of panels. |

| Once all the panels are
in position, the base joint at the junction
of the panel and the foundation slab
is sealed by placing concrete around
the bottom of the panels. This creates
a monolithic ring beam around the tank,
fully bonded to the foundation slab
and connected to it by projecting steel
reinforcement. Erection and grouting
is completed within two days. |
Patented Vertical
Seepage-free Joint The grout
sealant in the joints is allowed to
harden for 7 days, after which the tank
is put into compression by applying
circumferential prestress |
